Ever looked back at a pic and thought “my God?”
This picture was taken on January 19th 2019 after losing 10lbs before Chirstmas and then piling on the pounds again after Christmas.
I hate people taking photos of me. Selfies I can control and take the right angle with the right lighting and only have to snap my face, but I hate being included in photos.
Believe it or not I struggled to find this pic scrolling through my phone. I honestly dont have any full length pics as I hate the way I look in photos.
My main reason for starting the ketogenic lifestyle, not “diet,” was because I wanted a permanent fix to my increasing weight gain every year. I had tried every diet under the sun, 600kcal per day shakes and diet bars, meal replacement plans, eating 6 small meals a day, eating a health diet, low carb plans, carb cycling, you name it, I tried it. It got to the point where I just gave up and just ate whatever I wanted, because I would lose 7lbs and be stuck.
When I heard about keto I was very much intrigued. I knew the meal replacement plan I tried a few time put your body in ketosis but I thought that was because of the huge calorie defecit. I was hungry all the time, i was grumpy and ittitable. I thought this might be the same sort of thing.
So whats the difference with the keto lifestyle?
Fat, fat and more fat. This is the secret ingredient that will hopefully change my life. All my life I grew up thinking butter, oil, bacon, cheese and chicken skin were no go foods. However I love them and I was pleasantly suprised to find out that these food are allowed and encouraged on keto! Never again will I feel guilty about smoothering something in butter, or eating heavy whipped cream. at the moment I don’t miss carbs or unhealthy snacks at all. I am no longer hungry and my focus is only about learning how to cook new keto receipes rather than infactuating about the carbs and sugar I can’t have.
Within 5 days my energy levels have gone from 0 to 10. I am motivated to walk more and move around and I no longer stay in bed way over the snooze button. I felt better about myself adn have already lost some weight. It’s a long way off from feeling heavy, sluggish, lazy and unmotivated.
I am hoping this will be the start of a lifestyle change for me. I have so far been doing Keto for a week and believe it is doable with preparation and focus. I will be updating my blog weekly and documenting my progress, tips, (if I find any) and as a way to keep myself accountable to my decision.
